Our AOSJ School Community
Each student at AOSJ benefits from a small student teacher ratio in the classroom, a rigorous academic environment, field trips, special events, extracurricular activites, community service, physical education, daily foreign language, music, art and participates in speaking and performance opportunities in daily assemblies.

"My daughter just started kindergarten at AOSJ this fall and loves it. The classes are small and they have a great balance of rigorous academics coupled with fun progressive work in the humanities and a core curriculum that teaches all ages the importance of leaders such as Gandhi, Winston Churchill and Mother Theresa. They also have a good foreign language program (french and italian) starting in pre-k 3 which is a big plus for us. The uniforms are among the most striking in the city. Angela Coombs, the head of school, has a most refreshing vision for K-8 education. She's also probably one of the most welcoming accessible heads of school in the city. She's involved in planning every aspect of the class curriculums, welcomes the children every morning at the school gates and always makes time to talk to parents. Most of the parents, regardless of their child's grade know each other on a first name basis and are very involved at the school.
