We Believe in the Promise of Every Student

  • We believe that every student is capable of great things: academic excellence, compassionate leadership, and boundless creativity. We do our best to ensure that every applicant has an equal opportunity to become part of our community. We feel strongly that a good education should be accessible to students regardless of their background, faith, or financial capacity.

We offer financial aid to students in all grade levels. We seek to support as many families as possible based on demonstrated need.

Applying for Financial Aid

  • We use School and Student Service for Financial Aid, provided by TADS (www.tads.com), to complete a financial analysis. In addition to the TADS analysis, we require a 1040, 1040A, or 1040 EZ form and a W2 form from the past two years. You’re also welcome to upload other supporting documents.

Additional documentation may be requested to support the processing of your application. Examples include terms of alimony or child support agreements, terms of a trust, details of a mortgage or loan, value of investment portfolios, and explanation of indebtedness, which might include copies of bank and credit card statements.

New applications for financial assistance are due by November 30, 2023.

The financial assistance deadline for 2023–2024 for returning families is December 15, 2023.

All financial aid information should be directly uploaded to TADS.

If you have any other questions, please contact Angela Coombs, head of school, at acoombs@aosj.us or 212-243-5420.

  • AOSJ VoicesAffording“I learned so much during my time at the Academy. The teachers are incredibly caring and will help you to become the best student possible. The social aspects of the school make you feel like you’re part of a giant family. The Academy prepared me to work hard in high school, and to continue to live up to our three Cs: character, competence, and compassion.”
