At the Academy of Saint Joseph, technology serves three major purposes. We study technology for the lessons it can provide in and of itself, and utilize technology as a vehicle for presenting our ideas. In addition, technology has given us the concept of a design thinking, which serves as a method for problem-solving and conceptualizing challenges in new ways.
The Academy integrates the use of technology into the learning process through both formal instruction and organic use of technological processes and devices throughout the school day. In age-appropriate lessons, students learn how to code, format, and use various components of Microsoft Office. They are encourgaged to employ what they learn through the integration of technology and design thinking all subjects. among other skills. Students in the Early Childhood Program and Lower School use iPads. In the Upper School, dedicated MacBook Pros devices. All classrooms at the Academy are equipped with Smart Boards.
