As an internationally performing pianist, composer and educator, Antonio Truyols has enraptured audiences across four continents. His work has garnered awards from the Bucharest Jazz Competition, Nottingham Jazz Piano Competition, Maurice Gardner Composition Competition, and the Downbeat Awards. His performance credits include appearances at embassies in Washington D.C. and Europe as well as the Royal Palace in Bucharest. As a soloist, Truyols served as the Artist in Residence at the Tianjin Grand Theater in mainland China as the debut jazz performance and masterclasses in Tianjin. A true crossover pianist, he has performed with Paquito D’Rivera, Joshua Bell, Wynton Marsalis, Lee Konitz and Joan Rivers. His work whether it be in jazz, popular music, film music, or concert composition reflects the unique blend of his Spanish, Puerto Rican, and Peruvian heritage. Fun fact: Antonio was a competitive dancer as a teenager, holding two national titles in the Peruvian Marinera Norteña.
