  • 2020 Immunization Requirements:

The DoEd issues the following changes to school immunization requirements:

    • Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine: students entering grades K through 12 are required to have 2 doses of varicella vaccine. Grade 12 was added to these requirements for this school year.
    • Polio vaccine: students entering grades K through 12 are required to have 4 doses of polio vaccine unless the 3rd dose was received at 4 years of age or older, in which case only 3 doses are required. Grade 12 was added to these requirements for this school year.
    • Meningococcal conjugate (MenACWY) vaccine: students entering grades 7 through 11 are required to have 1 dose of MenACWY. Grade 11 was added to this requirement for this school year. In addition, students entering grade 12 are required to have received 2 doses of MenACWY; if the 1st dose of MenACWY was received at age 16 years of age or older, only 1 dose is required. If two doses of MenACWY were administered before age 16 years, then a third dose given on or after age 16 years is required. Please note that for grade 7 only, only doses of MenACWY given at age 10 years or older will satisfy the vaccination requirement.
    • Tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis (Tdap) booster: For grade 6, only doses of Tdap given at age 10 years or older will satisfy the vaccination requirement. For grades 7 through 12, Tdap doses given at age 7 years or older will satisfy the vaccination requirements.
