The Academy of St. Joseph at Washington Place reinvigorates the Catholic tradition of academic excellence by motivating and guiding students with a humanities-based curriculum characterized by the school's motto: Character, Competence, Compassion.
Every member of the Academy family challenges students with a rigorous and rich curriculum. Students become critical thinkers, collaborative problem-solvers, and global thinkers through a deep understanding of mathematics, science, and the humanities. Students pursue daily instruction in Spanish to achieve mastery of basic conversational, writing, and reading by the end of the eighth grade. Art, Music, and Physical Education are integral elements of the Academy curriculum. Students in Lower School receive weekly instruction in Library Science and Chess. Upper School students have the opportunity to participate in an elective block, which allows them to explore their interests through a variety of course offerings.
We encourage you to explore our website and to contact the Academy to learn more about this remarkable learning environment in which students work toward positive character, competence and compassion in a nurturing learning environment.
